This traditional links was formed by Hawtree & Taylor in 1927
and has evolved with the aid of inputs from Eddie Hackett and in
recent times Eddie Connaughton. The links has been described as
a hidden jewel and the Southern Region of the Irish PGA held
their 2001 and 2002 Championships on this links.
In 2008 Backspin Golf Magazine, following an extensive survey,
rated Arklow as its 29th best links on the island of Ireland.

Recognised as one of the
finest courses on the East Coast. Ranked within the top 100 golf
courses in Ireland.
This very enjoyable and challenging parkland course carries the
prestigious Hawtree & Son design signature and is recognised as
one of the finest courses on the East Coast since its inception
in 1978. In the last decade a total of €2.5m has been
spent improving and refining this locally renowned course.
With a Par 72 length of 6175 meters (6800 yards) the course is
always exceptionally well maintained and offers an interesting
variety of holes with the 14th played over the sea from a cliff
promontory, probably being the feature followed by a testing par
3, the 15th which was part of a re-design of all greens and tees
to USGA championship standard which re-opened in 2005.
The modern Clubhouse, overlooking a private beach, assures
visitors a warm welcome and has full bar and catering
facilities.

Powerscourt estate has been owned by the Slazenger family since
1961. It is renowned for its magnificent gardens and the highest
waterfall in Ireland. In the early 90’s an 18 hole championship
course within the 1000 acre estate was conceived.
Powerscourt Golf Club is situated in the grounds of the
magnificent Powerscourt Estate in Co Wicklow. It was originally
an important strategic site for the Anglo- Normans who came to
Ireland in the late 12th century.
